Course in Operative Paediatric Urology (COPU).

On the 27th and 28th May 2009 the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital will host our first course in operative Paediatric Urology (COPU) aimed at Paediatric and Urological Surgeons.

On the 29th May 2009 a workshop on A-B-C of Endoscopic Surgery will be held (click here for details).

Red Cross has recently opened new Digital Theatres with state of the art equipment to present operative work for teaching. 

Faculty

1) Professor Paddy Dewan, a Paediatric Urologist at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne and chairman of Australia’s surgical outreach organisation Kind Cuts for Kids has published widely in the fields of urology and paediatric surgery.

2) Dr Larry Jee, Liverpool trained Paediatric Urologist and consultant for 15 years at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and presently in full time practice at Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Cape Town

The following cases are confirmed for COPU: Minor and major hypospadias, ureteric reimplant, pyeloplasty, 2nd stage laparoscopic Fowler-Stephens orchidopexy, bladder augmentation and laparoscopic nephrectomy.
